Who is responsible for your information

The All Rounder is operated by The All Rounder (“we”), the responsible party for the personal information described here under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). Questions, requests and complaints go to privacy@theallrounderza.com.

What we collect

Account details. Your email address, your name, and the role you use the app in — coach, parent, player or organisation.

Player profiles. A player's name, date of birth, school, club, province, playing attributes, a profile photo, and video clips of them batting, bowling, keeping or introducing themselves.

Cricket record. Innings and spells logged against a player — runs, wickets, fielding, the level and province the match was played at, and any notes attached.

Coaching content. Written reports a coach records about a player, and session bookings including the name given when booking.

Usage. Notifications we send you, and the organisations you follow.

Children's information

Most players on The All Rounder are children. Accounts are for adults: a coach, parent or organisation creates and manages a player's profile, and confirms when doing so that they have the consent of the player's parent or guardian.

POPIA treats a child's personal information as a special category. We rely on that guardian consent to process it, and a guardian may withdraw it at any time by contacting us — at which point the profile and its media are removed.

Why we process it

To keep a player's cricket record, to let the coaches and guardians linked to that player follow their progress, to let organisations run their squads and identify talent, and to arrange coaching sessions. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who can see what

A player's profile, record and clips are visible to the coaches they are linked to, the guardians linked to them, and organisations they belong to. Access is enforced in the database itself, not only in the app.

An organisation may mark a player or a clip to show interest. That mark is visible by name to the player and their guardians — that is its purpose. A separate private rating exists for organisations and is never shown to the player.

Public pages show only coaches, organisations and their published session times. No child's name, photo, date of birth or footage appears on a page that a signed-out visitor can reach.

Where it is stored

Our database and media storage are hosted by Supabase in London, United Kingdom, and the application is served by Vercel. Personal information therefore leaves South Africa. The United Kingdom has data-protection law comparable to POPIA, and our providers are bound by contractual terms requiring a similar level of protection, as section 72 of POPIA requires.

How long we keep it

While the account or player profile is active. Delete a player and their record, reports and media are removed with them. Close your account and we remove your personal details; records about other people that you created — a player's innings, for example — stay with that player, because they are that player's record and not yours.

Your rights

You may ask what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. You can download a copy of your data and close your account from your profile page at any time, or write to us and we will do it for you.

If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.

Security

Media is held in private storage and served through short-lived links signed for the person requesting them, so a clip URL is useless on its own. Access rules are enforced by the database. No system is perfect, and if a breach affects your information we will tell you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above, and tell you in the app when the change is significant.
